
My participation in the 2nd AFCA Barista Bootcamp in Ethiopia was a unique international experience in specialty coffee education and collaboration. The three-day program focused on preparing participants for the AFCA Barista Competition (February 4-6, 2026) and brought together 30 baristas from 14 African countries.
As one of the three trainers, alongside colleagues from Kenya and South Africa, I had the opportunity to contribute to the training and preparation of the participants, supported by three assistant trainers from Ethiopia.
